You need a CD writer, or unless you wish to mail all those songs to yourself then dowload them, which will last for a LONG time.

Several options:
1) iPod transfer
2) Thumbdrive
3) Both laptops networked and a shared directory
4) Crossover cable between the laptops (only use this option if you don't have a router at home)
Depending on how much music you have, certain options will be better for you.

You'll have to go to the original location in which the iTunes files were installed (Most likely going to be C:/Program Files/iTunes or C:/Program Files/Apple/iTunes).
So go to My Computer and find those files. Then select the files, click on edit, then click on copy to folder. Copy it to your iPod or thumb drive.
Now go to the new laptop, and go to the iPod or thumb drive, and then select the files, go to edit, move to folder, and move them to a location in the hard drive. It would be best to put it in the same folder it was in on your old laptop.
If you want to transfer songs, then copy them to your iPod or thumb drive, and move or copy them to the new laptop.

ipods are tricky. I love them don't get me wrong but you may be able to save it on a flash drive but it has to be big. Your best bet would be to use an external hard drive. That way you know you will have enough room.
