Definition of insanity is, a person who makes the same mistakes over and over again, expecting a different result from the same action...
Humans continue to make the same mistakes over and over because they are insane...
Why?
Because we fail to see that reality is PLASTIC...
Our "reality" is only real to us INDIVIDUALLY, it is only shared on a very basic level with other people so what we consider to be true beyond question may have absolutely no relevance at all to someone who doesn't share our perspective and perception of the world. Our minds are wired to THINK VISUALLY and SYMBOLICALLY, but civilized humans are trained to cognate VERBALLY for purposes of control and harmony with others, but that is usually illusory, words are IMPERFECT SYMBOLS of REALITY and, as a result, we are very easily mislead by our own thoughts...

Insanity is characterized by a detachment from reality.
Or...if your name is Albert Einstein, insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
We make the same mistakes because as humans we are not too bright. it takes us a few times to learn something, if we ever do.

People go with what they know. The unknown is often avoided because it is...well... unknown. Therefore, humans try the same techniques hoping for a different result. Some call this insanity. I don't think so. Its more like foolishness and futility to me.
The definition of insanity would probably be the inability to perceive reality and the inability to make rational decisions.

The definition if insanity is "Mental illness or derangement"
and people continue to make the same mistakes over and over again is because we don't always learn from our mistakes, and we most definitely don't learn from the mistakes of others.
It's human nature, everyone does it, we are imperfect, so we do imperfect things.
