No amnesty for illegals. If you are here illegally, you cannot ever become a citizen. PERIOD. I support enforcing existing laws. I support arresting employers who hire illegals. I support simplifying the tax code so it costs less to have employees. The Fair Tax is that solution.
Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter support my position. I think Romney does. McCain and Guiliani do not.

I haven't seen any politician who shares the same view as I do on this issue... from either side.
I think that it is out of control, and not enough is being done (obviously)... I think it is crazy how people try and say that illegal immigrants are law bidden citizens.. They need to enforce the law and deport any illegal immigrant back to the country they came from. And if they are caught because the committed a 2nd crime (meaning 1st being here illegally) they should be convicted and held in a federal prison without parole.. And as soon as their sentence is up they get shipped right back to their country... If they've committed a crime so horrific that it deserves the death penalty, then they should receive it and their body should be sent back to their country, for their government to bury...
And the government needs to get rid of these programs that pay immigrants to be here, I live in a neighborhood that has recently been taken over by hispanics, I have nothing against the culture, but I do when they have 3 and 4 families of illegals living in a house and RV parked out front. Some of them have admitted that the government gives the $700.00 a month for just being here.. Then they have to go back to Mexico, El Salvador etc. for a month and they can come right back and start recieving a check again... I also know that they come over here and can work for something like 6 years, start their own businesses up and when their time limit is reached without becoming a American Citicizen, they return to their country and come back with a clean slate, brand new credit... Just like they never exsisted here before!! This is the government who allows this.. It's ridiculous, We can't have a Do Over when we mess our credit up, why should they?

I think the illegals should get out of the country. They didn't come here the right way, most don't want to be citizens, why should they be here anyway if they just ruin the health-care system, begin up crime, and take jobs away from people. I don't want to hear Americans don't want to do the jobs either. You pay them enough they will. As for a candidate there isn't any that will do anything about it. They'll all will probably give them citizenship.

Fred Thompson made the analogy of an overflowing bathtub. In doing so, he aptly sidestepped the whole amnesty vs. the logistical nightmare of deporting them all. He basically said the focus is erroneous. When your tub is overflowing, you don't worry about the water on the floor first, you need to shut off the faucet! Yes, we have a problem without an easy solution to fix, but first let's secure the borders that caused the problem, and is continuing to make the problem bigger! Then, we can debate how we handle our illegals.
ADD: I just read Dave K and I couldn't disagree more!!! Lady Liberty's poem said nothing about sending people illegally who have no desire to assimilate but will threaten our security.
My town just lost a citizen due to a drunk illegal with no license, who had been picked up twice before for drunk driving, but INS would not deport b/c no felony was committed.
Besides that, I guess Dave K. would be fine with us putting out a welcome mat for Al Queda. Hope he doesn't have any children, because he seems not to care that the symbol of our liberties may not be around for them to enjoy.

My thoughts on the issue is that illegal immigration is the most pressing domestic issue we face and no one will get my vote who does not make it a forefront issue and present a solution which does not involve encouraging the current practices.
ADDED: No, Dave K did not "nail it." This is not an issue of racism. It is an issue of citizens of other countries coming in and availing themselves of our social services, using falsified identification papers to do it. These same foreign citizens cannot be held accountable to our IRS laws, our creditor-debtor laws, or even our civil laws (divorce, for example). We cannot get them into court. They do not pay taxes. They just take our services. And you don't consider this a problem?

Illegal aliens are a major problem. What is decided now will impact America for decades to come.
Documented facts:
1) 66% of illegal aliens are high school drop outs.
2) Over 25% of all Federal prisoners are foreigners or illegal aliens.
3) California nearly went broke because of them. California had to take out billions in loans just to keep from going broke. Each year California spends over $10 billion yearly on them.
4) California's schools are now nearly the worst in the nation.
5) Crime is rampant in cities with illegal aliens.
6) 97% are taking jobs away from Americans.
7) Illegal aliens take 1/3 of all new jobs created in America.
8) They are responsible for uncontrolled growth in the Southwest. NASA says the Southwest will have severe water shortages in the next 20 years.
9) They are damaging the environment. Illegal aliens have larger families in the U.S. than if they stayed in Mexico.
Also, Democrats made this an issue. Democrat congressmen are the one that made illegal aliens demonstrate in the streets. In December 2005, Democrats got mad because Republicans voted for and passed a bill ( H.R. 4437) that would make it more illegal to be an illegal alien. The bill also called for punishing employers that hired illegal aliens. The angry Democrats thought about the possible loss of Democrat votes so they then took the issue to the media to gather support against the bill. ( The media in general wants more illegal aliens. More people = more ad revenue) .

My view is that there is no immigration problem at all.....
This was just an issue that the right wing trumped up to make some hay and consolidate their base....it has worked brilliantly.....
Keep in mind, that this "problem" has existed like this for decades....yet all of the sudden it became an urgent and imminent danger that had to be dealt with right away.....(Sound familiar Iraq fans?)
America is supposed to be a place that welcomes immigrants.......
Read the poem on the Statue of Liberty.....
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
We are supposed to be a safe haven for people looking for a better life.....those are American ideals.........the folks that tout an "immigration problem" fail to understand one of the main ideals of our great nation.....They betray one of the ideals that is greatest.......
No...."immigration problem" folks are just folks that think this is THEIR country and dont want to share it.....particularly not with people whose skin is of a different hue.....
