WW2 Japanese Victories?

Question

I need to know battles won by the Japanese that are not the Phillips or Pear Harbor. I need to know what other places did the Japanese conquer. Also a another question away from that, is the story of ww2, the saving of private Ryan based on a true story.

The Japanes conquered Korea, parts of China as well as parts of Burma and the Indo-China area. (Indo-China is what is now Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.)

They had a naval victory at the battle of Coral Sea against the US. and they had conquered most of the islands of the Pacific, they were finally stopped on Guadalcanal.

"Saving Private Ryan" is only very loosely based on true events. The invasion, and the presences of Rangers is about where the details stop being accurate. There was an Airborne trooper sent home because his brothers had all died, but there was no rescue mission. When he reported in after the chaos of the landings they told him the news and sent him home. But that wouldn't have made much of a movie.

Re Japanese conquests--best to look it up! They had conquored Korea, vast parts of China, the Philippines, Southeast Asia, the South Pacific islands, Indonesia and was threatening Austrailia. They enven attacted the Aleutians Islands. All of these had to be hard fought to win back!
