I think God was created by man to explain the creation of man. Whether or not God really exists is besides the point, because even if he doesn't exist, he does still exist. We can't talk about some thing that doesn't exist. Unicorns may not exist physically, but they do exist imaginatively.

So, who or what is God? Who really knows? It is said that he is the creator of all that is seen and unseen. But, not only that, he IS all that exists. He's in every one of us. When you see him hungry, feed him. When you see him thirsty, let him drink. In that sense, we are all connected, because we are all one with God. He is spiritual guidance. Everything in life is a test. When you see a homeless man, and don't offer him help, God will say, you didn't help me. Now, let's say you do offer him help, in the form of money. You might be afraid that he will use the money for drugs. Well, the test will now be the homeless man's test. Will he use the money for good or evil? You did your part, it's now up to him to do his. Or you could just feed them. It's more than homeless people, though. It's every one you meet. You should help any one you can. You should be here on Earth to improve the world in ways great and small. People who think they are awesome for beating people up. Do they think about the family members who will be emotionally hurt from their childs physical pain? Probably not. They are here causing destruction. People who are greedy, and don't care about others are just as bad. And when you live life as an evil man, you live a life that is never fulfilled. Keep chasing pleasures of the flesh, and you will never be satisfied. If you live positively, and you treat people that way, you will have a good life. If you are greedy or selfish, you might have the riches one desires, but can your soul really be satisfied? I'm not saying you can't be rich... I'm saying you can't be greedy. Know what I mean?

The point of God is to show people the path for a positive light. Every encounter is a test, and it's up to you to be positive in a world so negative. I don't know if God exists or not, but I do believe we are all connected. It's our responsibility to choose the right path. This is not the path that is right according to society, government, or even religion. This is the path that is right according to moral values.

You don't have to live the way society wants you to live. You need to live the way God wants you to live. Just treat God right. Treat everyone you meet right, because he's in all of us.

Is God the creator? Why does the bible have such a screwed up explaination of creation? Maybe that's another test? I don't know. But I can't say evolution proves God does not exist. It only proves there are parts of the bible that are not correct. What's the big deal about that? I think it's a good thing that there are some things that are wrong in the bible. It shows the people that no man is perfect. It shows the people that even religion is wrong. But the messages in the bible, in any religious book, is still there. The path to enlightenment is in all the books, in all the religions. I don't think God cares how you follow, and any one who says my religion is right, and your going to Hell, is not following the message of God correctly.

God, whether he REALLY exists or not, is the path to enlightenment. Whether he was created by man, or the creator of man... The message is clear. All you have to do is choose the right path. Don't worry about how much evil exists on Earth. Worry about how much evil exists in your soul.

God, if existing, is very lazy. He used to walk the earth now it's his foot stool. He never answers prayers and he definitely wouldn't of wrote a book so some humans stepped in and wrote it for him.
He was saying "Everyone! I'm so comfortable right here, can you write the bible for me?" And all the idiots answered "Sure."
Then after it was done he said "thanks," mumbling it sort of, that mumbling when you're too lazy to take a breath before you speak because you're too comfortable on your throne.
Then a bunch of people were confused and started killing each other because they worship the same god just don't share the same ideas and prophets. God still hasn't stepped in and probably never will.

The irrationality of religion has a scientific basis. It goes back to our cave man days when man was very insecure living in a hostile environment. The cerebral cortex of our brain (the complex thinking apparatus) is a relatively recent addition.

The more primitive underlying limbic system, the seat of our ancient emotions or innate temperaments, is in all of us. Humans use both systems. In times of trouble, people still pray for intervention by the god(s). Prayers are requests by persons to have the laws of the universe repealed in their favor.

People who are rational, relying on their cerebral cortex, look at all the absurdities in religion. Christian dogma expects people to believe the fairy tale of Noah's ark, although it is patently impossible to squeeze even samples of billions of the world's animals into one small ark. Rational persons consider such stories ludicrous.

The bible account of the creation of man and the universe is in such contradiction to irrefutable facts that a rational person cannot help but laugh about such fantasies.

Have you heard the saying "there's no atheists in foxholes?" Its because in times of danger, humans revert to the primitive part of their brain for security. We needed religion to survive in a hostile universe back in the cave man days. Now, in the modern era, we can see all the absurdities of the varius religions....but, obsolete genes do not disappear overnight, and so you will be seeing people "so religious."
