I always trust people until they let me down, If you don't at least give them that one chance you will never have any great friends

Yes, I believe they are.
As for the trust issue, that's true, but make sure that you don't automatically trust everyone, or you may end up hurt. And being overly wary is not good either. Try and get a good balance. Think, you're a good person yourself, so why shouldn't other people be?

I have trusted my so called friends only for them to end up using things against me, a true and honest friend would never do that so its hardly surprising its hard to trust.

I always say ,if your lucky & can count your best friend´s on 5 finger´s. Then you have very good friend´s you can trust. They are very hard to come by

Good question....I try not to be too cynical about friendship and tend to take people for what they are. Though this was not always the case. Though I have since learnt that we must have trust or life is not worth living.

true friends i have hundreds of "mates", but friends i would trust with my family, people that would do for me as i would do for them, thats more than friendship, but to answer you i would have 5 friends that icould rely on and trust whatever may happen
