on a joint green renewable energy program with the goal of producing 100% of both countries energy from domestic green clean renewable sources in 100 years with the goal of an 1% a year increase in over all energy production both countries consume annually? Why not it would be good for both countries equally, wouldn't it? Other countries could work for the same goal in concert with us if they wanted to, couldn't they? Hey, if a mutually benifical agreement that improves both sides standings can be achieved to replace hostile relations then why not?

Iran wants Nukes! plain and simple! Doesn't matter anyhow because Israel has to be involved! Iran has the capability to become a solar power leader in the world but they are fanatical and will destroy the world with their ambitions long before they make peace with us! Besides most don't know it but Russia will be our biggest pain in the next ten years! At the way they are rebuilding their conventional forces by 2012 they will be the dominate power in this world, of course we won't allow that to happen again, so guess what, the next cold war will be hot!

LOL. Iran doesn't need nuclear reactors. It has enough natural gas to run power plants for centuries. It has the 2nd largest natural gas reserves in the world.
Iran has a long history of giving weapons to terrorists. The U.S. doesn't want a nuclear bomb to be smuggled across the border and detonated in the U.S..
Also, Iran is not happy Russia is controlling all of the uranium going in and out of the reactors. Russia doesn't want to get nuked by a Iranian nuclear bomb that was given to muslim terrorists in Russia's Chechnya.
Russia still has not shipped uranium to Iran because they are in heated debates.
China has actively helped Iran refine uranium since Russia won't supply bomb grade uranium to Iran.

In a Utopian world it might work, but Iran would lose out since they are one of the oil rich nations. Why do we expect other nations to give up their nukes and yet we still have ours?

The issue is that since we have mess with Iran for so many years, we have created an enemy. Since they don't like us they will sell their oil for anything other than dollars.

In a normal society it might work. However Americans are Infidels. Muslims are not suppose to work with Infidels are they.... at least that is their 'excuse' for keeping us at arms length.
