Has anyone tried the prescription medications and if so which ones worked. I've tried two so far and neither have worked. Phenergan and Reglan are the ones I've tried and no relief!

Fresh grated ginger steeped in hot water, like a tea helped me. I drank it immediately after waking in the morning. I then had more nausea than vomiting. Congratulations & be thankful, it is a sign of a healthy pregnancy!

Zofran works for me most of the time, but sometimes it's a struggle to keep it down long enough for it to work. The pills are very, very expensive - luckily for me, my doctor worked with my insurance company to get it covered for me. Even if the insurance hadn't covered it, I'd have bought the Zofran by now - the all day and night sickness has been that bad.

I've noticed that any dehydration at all makes me feel even worse. Try some Gatorade or Pedialyte when you're feeling really ill - it's helped me quite a bit.

Edited to add - I have, if fact, had projectile vomiting. The Zofran worked anyway.

You may have a type of 'pregnancy nausea' that none of the 'prescription meds' can help ... and if you have 'projectile vomiting' you need to TELL THE DOCTOR who can put you into the hospital and give your 'stomach a rest' (you'll be fed intravenously for awhile) and then started back on 'eating food' very slowly and carefully.

If you are NOT 'projectile vomiting' (you may be 'puking' but it's not 'hard, fast, and goes far', or have just 'nausea' to the point that you can't EAT FOOD regularly) then I have some 'non-prescription' things you can do to help yourself both 'feel better' and to 'eat well enough to support the two of you' during this time.
When you go to bed at night, do not drink ANYTHING for at least an hour BEFORE you get into bed. Take a 'stack of crackers' (they should be 'sealed up tight' so they don't get any moisture in them at all) and set them on the table right next to the bed. As soon as you 'wake up' in the morning, eat two crackers ... then wait for 3-5 minutes and eat four more crackers. Wait another 3-5 minutes, and eat five crackers. Then you may 'start to sit up' but do so VERY SLOWLY and carefully. Have 'good pillows' so you can 'be half sitting' up for at least five minutes before you try 'sitting all the way up' ... and if you can do that without feeling any nausea, put one leg 'down' on the side of the bed. Nausea ... LIE DOWN FLAT again. No nausea, and you may put the other leg out of bed. I know it sounds WEIRD since you'll be 'terribly thirsty' when you first wake up, and 'crackers' are 'totally dry' and hard to swallow ... but I had 'extreme nausea' with three of my five pregnancies, and I learned the 'cracker trick' to take care of my 'morning sickness' ...

And if you get 'morning sickness' at ANY TIME during the day, LIE DOWN FLAT IMMEDIATELY and start 'eating crackers' according to the 'schedule' I gave you. The 'sick feeling' is because you have 'extra fluid' in your body around the 'forming baby' and you are getting 'seasick' from the 'inside' ... the crackers will help you 'absorb some extra fluid' (it will NOT hurt the baby) and you'll start to feel better. ALWAYS CARRY CRACKERS WITH YOU, even when you are 'just around the house' and also when you go 'out' to do things ... and if someone thinks you are 'weird' just tell them that you are pregnant and having problems with 'morning sickness' and you are trying to 'feel better using natural methods' and not 'relying on drugs' that don't always 'work' the way the doctors think they will.

what worked for me, after using suppository tigan, was simply drinking a little mint Maalox.its very relieving when going down.im now 5 months but in my first couple months i probably drank a whole bottle of the stuff.what you eat could also be a factor, they say to eat < a couple> crackers when you wake up in the middle of the night to pee, to tide you over past the sickness and until breakfast.eat small meals and dont eat past 830 at night- except like crackers or something.

I tried Zofran too and it didn't work. I lost 10 pounds my first trimester and couldn't keep anything down, including water. They eventually put me on some type of chemotherapy nausea medication, but we're military, so we didn't have to pay.

Cool out with the meds. You are having a natural part of pregnancy try to keep a little food on your stomach or look up some natural cures on the net.

I had terrible nausea for the first three months; the only thing I had any luck with was ginger beer (the real, funny-tasting old-fashioned kind you find in hippie shops...). Hope you feel better!

You poor thing! I finally just got done with the puking (I am 14 weeks) the thing that worked best for me was the preggie pops... you can get them at Motherhood.

Zofran might be your last hope, but it is REALLY expensive. We couldn't afford it so I just used phenergen.

You might get the pills but just use them very sparingly.
