Back in York in the eighties there was an open air folk music event. Billy Bragg was the headline act (this was before Red Wedge but after New England). He came on stage and did his songs just with his guitar, no-one or nothing else to back him. He did more talking than singing and he was so funny. Then when he'd finished the lights when down and everyone started to go. Then a bloke came on stage sweeping up...and it was him. We rushed onto the stage and just chatted to him. He was great.
Other than that it was when I went to see Steve Marriot at a small pub in Leeds called the Duchess. This was in the eighties too, long after the Small Faces, I'd be about 17. There was only a couple of hundred people there. The band came out and started to play, but where was Steve? Then this guy started to sing and it was him, I didn't even recognise him. He was my hero and I only knew him from all my record covers I had at home and he'd was probably hardly 20 on most of them...but his voice it was just the same. But then not so long afterwards he died.....I was gutted.

The best concert I ever went to was the Picnic at Blackbushe on the 15th July 1978. It was a one-day event like a mini-festival - we were going to see Bob Dylan, but earlier in the day were many bands, including Graham Parker and the Rumour, Joan Armatrading and Eric Clapton.
My then girlfriend and I travelled the 300 or so miles with my brother and his wife in their car - we set off the night before and broke down at some (closed) service station in the middle of nowhere around midnight, so we had to spend the night in the car until morning when we could get the car serviced.
The last few miles of the journey were on a motorway which was so congested people were actually walking between cars passing spliffs.......ah, those halcyon days!
We finally got there in the middle of Clapton's set......there were around 250,000 people there from all walks of life.....and Bob Dylan was magnificent!

Has to be Muse at Newcastle arena, November last year. While I've always been a fan, the gig was the turning point and has made me somewhat obsessed ever since! Went around happy as anything for about six weeks after it was that good.
Just perfect in every way, they sound better live than on CD, great stage show/lights/projections etc, Matt Bellamy.... I could go on but will spare you the details!... Cheers for asking tho' x

I have lots of favourites for different reasons - being a Queen fan, I went to the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 2002 which was amazing, my first proper rock concert. There were so many fantastic bands and although obviously Freddie wasn't there, Roger, Brian and John were.
I've been to see the Rolling Stones a couple of times - now that's what I call a rock concert!
Last year we went to see The Eagles - we were in the centre block, 12 rows from the stage - it was awesome. I could see so much, facial expressions etc it was just fantastic.
In 1992 I also saw the Highwaymen (Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings) Admittedly not everyone's cup of tea but I grew up in a house with JC fans so it was pretty cool to see the man on stage - i'm now a bit of a fan myself and even got to hold one of his guitars recently so seeing him was quite special.

Flaming Lips in Hammersmith Apollo.
It was a great concert because they really tried to engage the audience.
First, they had a lot of giant bouncing balloons so we had to push them up in the air to keep them floating. That got the crowd going quite a bit.
Then, they had massive screens on with lyrics up so everyone could sing along to all the songs. Loads of people dressed up in animal, alien costumes. A real visual and audio extravaganza. It was really good. Love the flaming lips.

OK different age groups, different music and fans.
For me, Meatloaf, Queen, Michael Jackson, Kylie, George Michael.
Out of them it's got to be Kylie Showgirl Tour for the latest concert I have been to, the best
Take That at Manchester City FC Stadium, it was excellent, enjoyable and I took a female and I am still with her today, though, sadly Just as friends.....

I think one of my favorites was when I went to see a few local bands at a venue called the capitol. It was a really rainy day, and the roof of the venue was leaking, so we all ran outside and danced in the rain until we were soaking wet. It was so much fun. :] It's never really the bands that I remember, as much as just being with so many awesome people and having a great time in general.

Ooh, good question. I've seen a lot of bands, but I have to say I think Outkast at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. It was an amazing show and there were points when you could feel the floor of the old church bouncing.

I would have to say Warped Tour is the best. A whole day of awesome music, and cool people. Plus at Warped all the bands are more approachable.
