Boys are like dogs at your age. Not to say they all are. Some restrain themselves and actually like & respect girls. The boys you met online were opportunistic, playboy users. They are everywhere. You just need to know it has nothing to do with you personally. We all make mistakes when we start caring more for the relationship then for our own pride & self-esteem. You have taken a bad hit. If you can be mad at the abuse & look yourself in the eyes & know that you will never allow that kind of disrespect again you should be able to forgive yourself & move on. I say forgive yourself because I know how it goes, you blame yourself. You felt degraded & that degraded your own self image. Personally, I don't think you should beat yourself up over it. This has happened to women in different ways since the beginning of time. It is so wrong of men to objectify women. Don't let any man objectify you again. I have been there. I know how hard it is to feel your own value when someone has devalued you. THEY WERE WRONG. YOU HAVE VALUE. I was older, but I took a long break from men to work on me. I had to learn about myself and like me again before I could have a healthy relationship. I ended up in a better place with a good man. Be mad at the things that happened to you. You deserved good guys and got crappy ones, but no more! You have a right to say no. Good guys are out there. They will respect "no" and wait for you. As far as abusive guys. Never again. You are better than that. I agree with the post about online chat & relationships being disastrous. I hope you will not meet guys online any more. I know this messes with your head, but once you move on from this it won't have to haunt you. Your past is not you.

Didn't break up with...just lost track of. I'd be happy to speak with them. It's been over 20 years.

We "broke up" a few years ago. I rarely talk to her. She called recently to see if I would go out of town and pick up her car that she wrecked when she was driving drunk. I told her where she could go and we hung up.
