As someone who lives in the US(and visits other countries), it is amazing to me that this even makes news, nevermind our Governor declaring a "state of emergency"...

Have you noticed that our society has become increasingly impatient with even the slightest inconvienience...we are all on the freeways pushing VERY hard on the car in front of us, but we are going nowhere fast...we cry about the price of gas, yet we spend $5.00 on a bad cup of coffee, or spend $1000 on a ticket for a single sports event...degrees "ONLINE" in less than a year!! Imagine THAT...a degree that is worth less than the paper it's printed on!

I don't really have time to answer this right now, but if I did, my response would be that people today are way too self-absorbed. What they want is by definition more important than anything or anyone else.
