The computer at home had all of the history deleted on day. I hardly ever use this computer. My husband said he didn't know how all the history was deleted. He said he didn't know how to do all that. I just had a computer problem, and he emailed me exactly how to do it. I asked on here and didn't get an answer that precise. I called him and said how did you know that, and he said He knows a little about computers... So is he lying about deleting the history from the home computer?

I am more upset if he lied to me, not about the porn necessarily.

Yes, you are overreacting. He might be deleting history but I have a feeling it's because he knows you are looking at it. Women tend to get their panties in a wad if men are looking at porn. It really cracks me up. Its internet porn. Its free. They're men. Who cares. This question is less about him lying and more about you possibly acting like his mother instead of his wife. I agree that being open and honest in a marriage is best but each person is allowed to have private thoughts and reading time too(or porn surfing time if that's the case) Wouldn't you feel bad if he DID delete the history but only because he was planning some sort of surprise for you? Would you feel bad if you found your computer was set up to do this, or you had done it by accident yourself? Look at the other issues here. We can't change others, only our reaction to others. Cut him a little slack until you know exactly what happened. If he wants time to surf porn, give him a box of tissues and some space. Will you delete the history so he can't see this question on here? ........Think about it.......

What made you want to look at the history in the computer?

I think that there is a story behind this question.

Computers will delete the history during some virus scans and regular maintenance, but have to be setup to do it.

If there is a occurrence that your husband might be looking for something that he does not want you to know about, then he lied to you. But is the lie OK if it is something that is a surprise for you. When is your birthday, anniversary etc.

Are you the type of woman that is so worried and insecure that you always have to think that he is doing something wrong?

I'm probably way off on this and he is addicted to porn.....Sounds like a pattern today.

Its really easy to delete the history on a computer. He could have been messing around and accidentally erased it. He also could have been looking at something embarrassing, so he might be lying because he thinks he'll get into trouble. Unless you can think of a reason why he would want to delete the history, you shouldn't worry.

There are only 2 ways that the history can be deleted. One is manually. The other is for the options to be set to keep the history for a certain amount of days, weeks or months.

To see what the properties of your history are, go to tools, Internet options and look at the history section. There should be drop down buttons that will allow you to specify the amount of time to keep the history.

YOu might be overreacting, but i do the same thing. I had some trust issues with my BF for a while, so i would check his email. IF the deleted items were empty, and so were his sent, i would panic.

YOur internet options might just be set to delete after a certain amount of time, so it really might not be him. Keep your guard up, but don't be openly angry with him unless you have something tangible.

Of course he's lying. Your computer doesn't have a magic fairy looming around it that deleted the history on you guys!

I'd ask him why he feels he needed to delete the history and then fib about doing it afterwards. Sneaky....

Easy way of him deleting the history is simply by clicking on TOOLS and then INTERNET OPTIONS. Then all he has to do is click CLEAR HISTORY and then click on DELETE COOKIES. Although it will still be on your computers hard drive it won't be as simple as you looking to see the latest history and getting a blank page. Get someone that knows more about computers if you're that worried about what he's doing online to search your hard drive. If not, install that stuff that logs every keypunch he makes. Good lucK!

Ummmm....deleting the history is incredibly easy to do. Any male (all who look at porn, so don't yell at him if he is doing that) past the age of 13 knows how to delete the history from a computer. don't worry if he got caught he probably didn't delete the cache files. Go figure out how to look at the temporary internet files in the cache and you can see what hes been looking at.

Our computer at home is automatically set up to delete history every certain amount of days. That might be what happened.

I get pissed when I see all the history has been deleted because that obviously means he was looking at stuff he wasn't 'supposed' to be.......honestly, I couldn't give a rat's a.s.s. if he looks at porn. It's when they start looking up their old girlfriend's on Classmates that I have an issue with.
