I'm looking for this movie that came out in the early 80's.?

It's about an all girl punk band. They start out with no fans but by the end of the movie they had become sell-outs. The singer (main star) has a red mohawk and walks away from the band at the end of the movie. ANyone remember it?????

It sounds like it might be 1988's Satisfaction w/ Justine Bateman and Liam Neeson and an unknown named Julia Roberts. I know they become 'famous' over the summer but then call it quits because of everything that's been going on.
