Eerything started so gloomy for this world cup.
it ended the same way.
unjustified victory to Australians. As a Matter of fact,Putting a Squash Ball in a Batting Glove is illegal
by ICC laws.Infact any thing...But one ausie did it.
So keep your mouth shut about it........!!!
that's why i say ,..This was a "Staged -drama" to award Australia the 2007 world Cup.
no body like to accuse gilchrist nor australia.
whem Cronje did this it was abig hue & cry.
when Asie does that everybody accept it.
too bad man, disguting.but now
some people start to say it was More ....Like "WWF"- Wrestling Drama, everything went on according to the script.Whilst I am not that happy nesessarily, that Australia has won the World Cup.But I feel for Sri Lanka who never really had a decent chance to chase the Australian's total. A "Terrible end to a Disappointing" World Cup which has done nothing to advance the game.
I believe that Australia is fighting unit and would have not beaten Srilanka over 50 overs. But having the final reduced to 38 overs and then played in the dark was a Joke.

Both teams should be given a fair opportunity. I ask the Sri Lankan supporters who have been so outspoken in their dispair of Australian supporters (only gentemen-not some good 4 nothing hooligans) not to blame Ausies for this farce.

Instead Blame the ICC who seem to make up rules as they go along. Personally I would have liked to see the match moved to Sunday so that we could have a real game of cricket and not the joke that ensued.
AUS got WC 2007 , but SL played under pressure. When the Final was on the same time their Capital city was attacked by Terrorists.Rain took over the match.
Toss was the ridiculously deciding Facter.
Sri Lankan Players got the ....................
"Terrorists attacking Colombo"- news and Panicked ..
and that did not exactly helped to Lankan course to Victory
much.

Their(Cricketers) kids wives & parents all living in Colombo.
They dont know how far it affected ,towards > target & Bad light as well as Rain.
ICC must answer this question. I dont know these whyICC morons did not call this game to next day?
Utter non sense..!!
And even limit the final to 25 overs. ( In rainy day even kid knows dark will come soon in evening )
Begining ICC has to limit this game to 25 overs or call to next day.
But ICC & organizers want "Business" than the cricket game.
No doubt AUS is a good team.
So how SL or any other team can face "OZ" in bad lights?
This is the worst game I ever saw. Organisers had no common sense at all. they did according to the "Script" that Somehow or other "Australia must Win"
We were in no need of the victory so badly like Australia.
But we don't want like this stupid End either.

we did not bribe Umpires.we didnot Bragged either.
I again wish,Long live asian Cricket.
It can hurt ausies a bit ,i surely know. But ICC descrimination towards Asian players ? Can it be Pardened?
Dissapointing world cup Ever....2007
now every body jump to say dont blame
on these Noble Australians.
Oh phuleeeze .. gimme a break...!!..What a hypocracy,
what i can not understand is some Asian peolpe seems deaf & bling about this

when in Australia once Murali Was bowling The Racist australian crowd shouted that " no Ball"
Inthat match whenever Muralitharan took the Ball..
these so called Noble Australian Racist shouted
" no Ball"...." NO ball"...
they chanted all the while.
anybody ,objected?
I dont think so...Sir..I dont think so...Sir

Have any stood up against it ?SOME Fans..EH?
some cricket loving fans...
Parden them? you gonna say that?
when we now criticize them what they do?
They use dirty language..They use dirty language..
But.. they get away all the time..why?
Cuz they R so good at acting Innocent.....
Squash ball or Alien ball , dont Talk.
cuz Australians did it .
what ever it's Australia..you R supposed to
shut your ****...about it
Hail to Thee.. The Galent Sri Lankans(Lions)

The 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup was a men's cricket tournament that took place in the West Indies from 13 March to 28 April 2007, using the sport's one-day international format. There were a total of 51 matches played, three fewer than at the 2003 World Cup (despite a field larger by two teams).

The 16 competing teams were initially divided into four groups, with the two best-performing teams from each group moving on to a "Super 8" format. From this, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and South Africa won through to the semi-finals, with Australia defeating Sri Lanka in the final to win their third consecutive World Cup. Australia's unbeaten record in this year's tournament increased their total to 29 consecutive World Cup matches without loss, a streak dating back to 1999-05-27, during the group stage of the 1999 World Cup.

The World Cup was awarded to the West Indies via the International Cricket Council's rotational policy. It is the first time the Cricket World Cup has been held in the Caribbean despite the fact that the West Indies cricket team have been the second most successful team in past World Cups.

The United States contingent lobbied strongly for matches to be staged at its newly built cricket ground in Lauderhill, Florida, but the ICC decided to award all matches to Caribbean nations. Bids from Bermuda, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and a second bid by Jamaica were also rejected.

Eight venues across the West Indies were selected to host the World Cup final tournament. All host countries hosted six matches with the exceptions of St Lucia, Jamaica and Barbados (the last of which hosted the final) which each hosted seven matches.

The Jamaican Government spent US$81 million for "on the pitch" expenses.[8] This included refurbishing Sabina Park and constructing the new multi-purpose facility in Trelawny - through a loan from China. Another US$20 million is budgeted for 'off-the-pitch' expenses, putting the tally at more than US$100 million or JM$7 billion.

This put the reconstruction cost of Sabina Park at US$46 million whilst the Trelawny Stadium will cost US$35 million. The total amount of money spent on stadiums was at least US$301 million.

The Brian Lara Stadium, in Trinidad, lost its status as a pre-tournament warm-up match venue on 21 September

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 was in March-April 2007. The venue was West Indies. 16 teams played in the tournament. This world cup is believed to be the worst of all of the 9. Australia won this edition. Australian Glenn McGrath took the most number of wickets and his teammate Matthew Hayden scored the most number of runs. India and Pakistan were the only shock exits with Bangladesh and Ireland replacing these teams. Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer died during the world cup. The final was played between Australia and Sri Lanka.

this is the arguably
worst world cup ever.definetely not to blame on any west Indian Fan. threy were great!!this is main fau;lt of ICC & officials.
Ausies lost to bangladesh before Tigers rvolution even.
They lost 3 consecutive games to Kiwis too
Most humiliating , Australia lost to England who were thrashed by Sri
lankans.Australia was the toughest team in the world to beat.
But Mahela knew that it could be done and that the one team that
Australia fear is Srilanka because of the fantastic talent and unorthodoxy
of some of it's players.
Sanath is the greatest one day allrounder of all time (nearly 12000
runs and 300 wickets) and can destroy any bowling attack on his day.
Murali is the bowlers Bradman and only needs one opportunity to weave
his magic.
Murali was done several times by Umpire Bucknor when even clean LBw
appeals were made.
Malinga's menace was still to be feared by Australia in a oneday
match. If Vaas's had bowled 29 sunday the story would have been totally
defferant.. Australia once had five runouts in Srilanka's hands and this
is a very different fielding side to other Asian teams with Dilshan
lurking around.Mahela is finally fulfilling his potential for the great batsman he is.he was given LBW in Most deplorable manner.
it was clearly not out by Yards.honestly what;s with Bucknor ?
Another ,cortsen type/
can't say surely. but he has some eye sight problem.
Sangakkara has been the best gloveman in the tournament and can also
sledge with the best. These are exotic talents who are playing with a
burning desire to win.
In 1996 Australia underestimated Srilanka who had the best batting .
side in the world . Even after the 1996 world cup Australia was
regularly beaten by Srilanaka. In 2007 Srilanka has the best bowling attack in
the world. Also as with Bradman , numbers don't lie. Srilankans hold
the highest oneday and test partnerships , highest test and oneday scores
and a bowler who has the world record of 8 wickets in a match.
This is the one team that can beat Australia and Australia knows it.
Without doubt Australia is the best team in the world on their record
but if Srilanka can expose their middle order to Murali and co it is
going to be an interesting match. The one thing that Australia realises is
that Srilanka will not be intimidated like South Africa and will bring
their own unique brand of cricket and boldness to the game. Also as in
1996 they are coached by a brilliant , Australian Coach.
still australia wins.
Everybody knows .Ponting mus thand over the cup to SriLnakans.
Like the hero sangakkara did.
if he waved "no" toumpire , when malinga Create a catch , blind umpires could have given thedreaded finger.
Shame with Australian Cricket Suppoters in this forum.
they even dont like any objaection.
