People are blaming the cricket administrators but is it not a fact that electronic media and certain TV channels are creating a great hype in favour of certain players day in and day out just because they have been playing good in the past and established good reputation though they are becoming useless gradually. Media does create very good public opinion in their favour with the result that the selectors are afraid to drop them and encourage and bring in new generation of good players as because the media and some past good players on the backing of their past achievements , together again vehemently appose and criticise the selectors and Board. The Indian Cricket cannot improve like this.

Media is not totally fair but can not blamed for Team's failure.
Media put in the news whatever is going to attract users or people for them.
We have politics and other stuffs before, but because of media.. people never came to know.. It is the media ,people know now about scams, about our players not only that how our elected leaders are doing.
Selectors are not selected to look what is in media.. their job is to select player.It is the media who also says.. which young player is performing well.
As long as Board is running by so called politiciansor business person... we would never improve. being the richest Board for long time.. what they did for over all domestics cricket improvements.
I think the process of electing Board management or selection committee needs new direction.

Beyond all that it is politics that is ruining the game in India. The lawmakers should have no say in who the coach selects in his team. When the coach has to pacify so many parties, he ends up satisfying none.
And about the media, it doesnt matter what they say. The selectors and the coach work to select the best team that will win. That is the goal. Something has got to give. They cannot satisfy the masses and still win.
It would be better to win and satisfy the masses as a result =)

Electronic media puts pressure on the players , that's all, it has nothing to do with the cricket downfall and I don't think Indian cricket is in downfall, they just lost against BAN and were out. It could have happened with any team. Even SA lost against them.

Selection of candidates is one of the reasons for failure but it is not the one and only reason for the failure.
In which sports India is Number 1 in the world level and maintaining it consistently --- No. not in any single field. We were winning positions in one sports or other once in a blue moon .
We should make more and more attempts knowing our correct position, to achieve a certain level of competency.

Mate you are right,Even today India is A Great team on dead wickets or flat tracks,
We have specialists for belting the ball on these tracks.
Instead of grass how about preparing cement ,glass or stone tracks which will suit our bats man and save our selectors.
