Woodworm, cracks that run through the brickwork as opposed to through the pointing. Unsupported chimney breasts. Load bearing walls that have been removed and drain testing are the most obvious. Minor items would be blocked gutters, broken downpipes and ill fitting windows.
However in my experience they neglect to make any effort to uncover hidden defects, and legally protect themselves against any neglect. I would prefer a good local builder with a structural knowledge of buildings.

they may need to see about damp or cracks in the walls whether all the lighting is safe whether the stairs are safe over all whether or not it is safe to live in for who ever is buying the house
