They're two completely different events.
We've already seen a preview of what happens during earthquakes in 1989. This particular section survived Loma Prieta, but a particularly poorly designed section of the nearby Cypress freeway collapsed, killing many people. Earthquakes cause repeated vertical and/or horizontal ground movements. Structures fail when they can not endure these massive vibrations (very rarely does a fault rupture right through/underneath a given structure - the design condition is fault movement miles away).
The stress of this event could more accurately be compared to the World Trade Center collapse - focused superheating caused steel to weaken structurally, leading to catastrophic failure of structural supports and ultimately failure of the entire structure as its own weight pancaked onto itself and led to a chain reaction.
A bridge/overpass could be well-designed to withstand an earthquake, but apply a well-placed "blowtorch" in the wrong place and you've got a disaster on your hands.
I wonder what would happen if the same accident occurred on the Golden Gate bridge, and the fire enveloped one of the two main suspension cables for the bridge. Again - a total non-risk in the earthquake case.

no person became in the back of the fall down. in case you examine Yahoo information, it became a tanker that exploded whilst it crashed on the expressway. Bush has no longer something to do with it. hearth does soften steel, what are you conversing approximately?!? In a blast like that something is possible. If hearth could no longer soften steel, then we could nevertheless have the Towers in N.Y., geez think of slightly! hi YOU fool! I stated think of no longer examine yet you of course won't be able to examine! i became commenting on what Rosie supposedly stated, yet you're an excellent greater suitable fool than she isn't analyzing what I stated precise and on suitable of that, for posting one in all those stupid question.
