Yes and yes - depending on GPA, references, and standardized test scores.

Granted, you may need a higher GPA from Chicago State than other schools to go to University of Chicago, but it can be done. Keep in mind that both University of Chicago and Northwestern are national universities, so the pool of applicants is quite large. If your goal is grad school in the city of Chicago, you may want to include UIC and DePaul, as their draw is more regional than NU or U of C.

Your chances would be better if you went to a more highly regarded undergraduate school -- but if everything else is stellar (great GPA, high GRE or GMAT, excellent recommendations), then it is possible.

The vast majority of people in my Duke MBA class went to highly regarded undergraduate schools. However, there were a few who went to schools like Chicago State. Not many -- but a few.
