Are you a new NFL fan? Where do you live? Welcome to the greatest league in the world.
The NFL draft is when the professional teams take turns picking amateur players. The amateur players had been playing football for their college teams.
College football is almost as popular as the NFL.
The NFL makes things fair by having the worst team get to pick the first player. The team that won the Super Bowl gets the last pick.
Last year the Oakland Raiders had the worst won-loss record so they get first pick. The Indianapolis Colts won the Super Bowl so they get last pick.
There are 7 rounds in the NFL Draft. 224 players get picked.
Amateaur players are eligible to enter the draft if they have graduated from high school at least 3 years ago (That means they are usually 21 to 22 years of age).
Here is the list of players taken in the first round of the NFL Draft. They are listed by Team, Name, Position and School they went to.

255 are drafted. The final pick is "Mr. Irrelevant". This selection is honored annually with the Lowsman Trophy, which is Irrelevant Week's answer to the Heisman.
This year's Mr Irrelevant is Alabama cornerback Ramzee Robinson, drafted by the Detroit Lions.
