If you let even a single zucchini grow too large (bigger than about six inches long), the plant will die. It's something about the way it's designed, to die after it produces viable seeds. So keep picking the squash when they're small, and the plant will last a bit longer.

First you need to get soil that is good for Vegies, go to your local garden store and get the best soil. Depending on where you live, you need to water it everyday or sometimes 2 times a day. You also need to feed it vegie food. Make sure you pick them and don't let any get too big.

You had a squash borer that killed it. Watch the plant, and use an insecticide. I have had them, but they don't last anymore.
