No. I think there's nothing wrong with complimenting a woman on her beauty.

appropriate and implicitly shouldn't belong in the same question. Yes it's appropriate no it's not implicit. Is he a mind reader or is this something inherent in our genome to know and understand this without it being directly expressed? No. If you are uncomfortable with what he said either brush it off like nothing happened (it was a compliment and not sexual in nature), or you could say it makes me feel uncomfortable should be enough to deter it from happening again.

of course, as long as his wife understands that he is merely giving the woman a complement, and not implying that his wife is not beautiful
all women are beautiful and deserve to hear that they are. Who are us wives and girlfriends and fiancees to say they shouldnt recieve a compliment now and again
(then again, we do have the right to get jealous, but not OVER jealous ... thats bad)

If you are telling her then yes, out of fairness to the marriage~ You need to keep this hush to yourself, she knows she is, you know and if your wife knows then she sees too~ Beauty doesnt need to be said, that is why it is in the eye of the beholder~ I hope you were trying to be kind and not attraction taking over? you know i wonder that myself......i am married have been for 8 years and i find myself looking at women in a way i havent seince ive ben married......im beging to get paranoid that lust might take over and make me do somethign stupid......lol, anyway to answer your question, i say yes because i know i would get upset if my wife was complimenting another guy.
