Yes, but I get free tickets because my father knows some corporate sponsors.
Yankee Stadium has the second highest average ticket price in the majors. Ticket prices are as high as $400 for a single game! A good seat runs $60-80 (far away from the infield, although the view's still good). Hot dogs are about $5 last I checked (though I stopped eating hot dogs a while ago). Beer is $8.50 for a Miller Lite! Though a Bud costs about $7.
Shea Stadium costs less, but even then, it's still a lot to pay to see one baseball game; and they charge different prices based on who the visiting team is!
The best seat at Shea runs $52-82 depending on the opponent. A good seat can run you $30-48 depending on the opponent. Food prices are a little less than at Yankee Stadium.
But considering that there are 81 home games in a baseball season, this is ludicrous.

I have a hard time finding good seats for a family of 4. I can go to maybe two games a year and pay $120 plus the hot dogs, beer, and all that stuff kids like to buy. I don't think they should increase more. At least not now, our economy is not in the best of states. People are thinking more with the pocket and not wanting it empty by mid month. Gas prices are up and everything else is also, but MLB and teams can hold on a couple of years before increasing prices.

I am a Met Fan stuck out here in Ohio for the moment. Mets ticket prices are high, but the caliber of player you are paying to watch sort of evens it out. My Aunt works in the front office at Shea, so I never had to worry about prices, but the box seats behind home plate field level run you about $80, and the tickets throughout the ball game are not the cheapest. If you want to see the Reds, the seats are quite a bit cheaper. I had 2 tickets front row behind the left field wall for only $30 with a Pepsi can. Now that is the way to promote. Slap Ryan Freel on a can and put 50% Off Tickets. Reds aren't the best, but they have a beautiful park on the river in the Queen City. I would recommend going just for the view.

It depends on the stadium. If you go to a yankees game it will probably be a lot of money. At a pirates game you can get some pretty good seats for like $20. There are some cheap hot dogs for like $2 but they are small. The foot long dogs are like $6. High food prices are expected though, because they can easily monopolize just like every other arena or amusement park does.

You might not like ticket prices, but in 2006 just under 76 MILLION people didn't think they were too high. That was a new attendance record. As long as 70M+ people are opening their wallets, MLB has no incentive to reduce ticket prices, because it doesn't care which 70M+ people show up.
Last year, only Kansas City, Florida, and Tampa Bay sold less than 50% of home capacity. Eight teams were between 50-59%, six between 60-69%, four between 70-79% (and AL champion Detroit just missed the next bracket), two more in the 80% decile, six in the 90% decile, and the Red Sox sold out every game.
Rage against the economics as you will, but lower ticket prices are not in the future.
Support your local minor league or independent team.

Hot dogs are 4.50 at US Cellular Field. They used to have dollar dog nights on Thursday, but the stopped that too.
Ticket prices are too high. But that is nothing can be done talk. They will continue to go higher. Demand is higher than ever. For the seats I get, they are an about $48.00. But now they have 4 different price tiers depending on when the game is, and who they are playing. And the worst part is beer is now up to $6.00, which has vendors mad because when they put it at an even dollar amount, you are less likely to give a tip since it is hard dollars. And parking is now $20.00. Public transportation is not a good option as it would cost over that for a family of four to get from most suburbs.

It depends on which team. For the Cards, good seats will usually cost $30- $50 per seat. Although, if you're a Rays fan, they're practically giving they're tickets away. It's all about how popular the team is. I imagine Yankees and Red Sox tickets are the most expensive.

Yes, tickets are too much. When I was a kid, $3.00 got me to the game, into the game, and a hot dog & drink.
It's over $35 for a good seat, about $5 for a hot dog, now. Parking is $30.

of course not, because thats how the people get payed that play or work for the stadium they also get payed by selling shirts and stuff, but still prices should stay the same its helping the economy alot.... and if i had a stadium i would charge 100 bucks for an adult and 50 for a kid ..... for hotdogs i would change a dollar and 50 cents.......... unlike the yankees who charge like 5 dollars

YES!! I am a Red Sox fan, retired, and too poor to afford tickets to a game. I used to take my son, park, eat dinner out, have snacks at the game for under $50. Now I can't even get a decent seat for $50!! So, I end up always watching them on television. I hope they keep televising the games on NESN, or I'll never get to see them.
Chow!!
