What would indicate to some one that they would be in love with somone they know?

I never really thought about being in love with any of the ladies that I know but I wonder what would I have to be thinking or seeing that would indicate that I would be in love with one of the girls that I know.

To put it most simply, loving someone is when you put their needs before your own, when you are willing to make major sacrifices in your life for their happiness - you become as unselfish as is humanly healthy where they are concerned. This applies to all forms of love- like the love parents have for children. Most parents make great sacrifices for their children, and would put themselves in harm's way for their kids. That is true love, and generally, you can't feel that for someone you don't know very well. You like someone because of their strengths, but you love someone despite their faults. Would you still want to be with that person if they were in a terrible accident, so they didn't look the same and you would have to do everything for them? If not, you don't love them, not true love.
Now, the signs of having a crush on someone, or puppy love - that is different. When you have a crush on someone, you get butterflies around them, you find it hard to think about other things, you feel overpowered by your desire to be around them. You dream about being with them.
Odds are that you are not in love. Don't push yourself. You don't need to be in love all the time. When the right one comes along, you will know. Until then, just enjoy friendship.
