Hopefully, you have court-ordered support. Where I live, for example, you are registered with the child support collection agency when you divorce, and they take the funds out of your check before you even see it.
If he pays directly to you, it is tougher to collect. If he pays through an agency, they probably already know he's not paying, and could be reminded to go after him.
Be glad he is still in the same state, once he moves over state lines, the agencies have a much harder time collecting. You can get part of his unemployment (if he was laid-off) but you won't see anything there if he quit or was fired for cause.
Get the courts after him, either way. And, if you don't already, get the court paperwork requiring him to make payments WHETHER OR NOT he is employed. He might have to (poor baby) sell his motorcycle, or move in with family in order to come up with the funds. Your child shouldn't go without.
DO NOT, however, threaten to withhold visitation until he pays... that isn't legal in most areas. Even if he never pays a dime, he still gets the visitation (if he's scheduled for any).

First of all, is your child support been court ordered? Because if not he will play these game with you until that child is fully grown. I know no one like to see their children dad go to jail but he has to have a reason to stay employed. Pay your child support or go to jail simple as that. Like now while he's unemployed that child support will still be adding up while he sit on his a** doing nothing. Girl, do what you have to do to make sure your child have at least some of things they need. Take his a** to court if you haven't already. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

That could get really complicated. It seems to make more sense that one parent be in charge of the expenses and the other parent contribute. Think about all the things you would have to agree on if each were going to contribute 1/2 of everything. You would have to agree on how much should be set aside for college, how much each child can spend on school clothes and the extra things you mentioned. It would all have to be agreed upon ahead of time and then the one who paid would need to be reimbursed... I'm getting stressed just considering it! My guess is that he thinks that what he pays right now is more than half their expenses and if you actually split it up, it would save him money. That's usually untrue. Also, child support in TX is calculated to allow the child(ren) to live in the manner they would have had the parents not split up. The only way to split things 50/50 is if you made the exact same amount of money. I would suggest that you let the state decide and trust their calculations. If he thinks there is good cause for a review, he can request one, but the state will ultimately still decide. Good luck!

Not much you can do. It's not like we can force low life ex's to get a job and pay child support.
All that will happen is he will go into arrears and child support should take his license away until he catches up on his payments. But other then that nothing.

Take it to court hun. He needs to pay your daughter's child support. He can get his lazy a** some type of job for now, even if it's not a stable one.
You shouldn't have to pay for everything.

Yes ,Tell DSS and ask them to see to it that you get child support and give them his address. He may go to jail for a while, BUT that will be an incentive to help him stay working.

Go back to court. He will still need to pay you a percentage of his unemployment or severance if they apply. The courts will also make sure that he is actively looking for a job.

Arrears accrue with interest when he does not pay. Contact your local child support enforcement department and let them handle it.
