I don't know exactly, but there are some ways which you might be able to find out. Some school districts have their pay scale listed on their website. (I guess being public employees, a teacher's pay is public info in some states). If you can't find it spelled out like that you can guess salary by looking at other statistics. Yes it can be sad, but sometimes money is linked to school performance, check test scores and a school's "report card." Some districts list their budget on-line; look at how much goes to salaries and do some quick math based on how many teachers are in the district. Also look at spending per child. Sometimes schools in the suburbs may pay more, IF the school district is funded by property taxes.
