I assume you are talking about the UK.
If so, you will be looking at doing training to become an Accounting Technician.
Check the 'Jobs4U' section on www.connexions-direct.com for the info you need.

Take accounting classes in HS, and take major in accounting in college. While you are in school, there will be opportunities that will arise that may allow you to work as an intern. Then when you graduate, you will have a good starting point, you will likely work for moderate pay for several years, then you'll be able to change jobs and start at another company with higher pay scales and more responsibility.

If it it something quick, then you may be able to work as a temp with one of the national tax preperation places, like H&R Block. It won't pay much, but they give you some training and it may help you see if you like it.

Hmmmm....are you talking about being like a bookkeeper or an actual like CPA kind of thing.

Speaking from the CPA side, I feel that it would probably be really difficult for you to obtain an internship without some prior accounting experience (i.e. college classes). Unless you have some connections with a smaller mom & pop place, I'm not sure if you will be able to do it.
