it might sound dumb, but when i have to do a speech i practice a ton in front of the mirror. also, don't worry about who is going to be hearing your speech, instead focus on the content and the point your trying to get across.
good luck! :]

Do a lot of breathing exercises,
and keep going over your presintation untill you can recite it in your sleep.
The best advice, my drama teacher told me before I went on for a monolauge.
Create a focal point,
On the back wall behind the audience, JUST above their heads, and look all alont the back wall, it makes it look like your looking directly at the audience, but not having that direct eye contact can take off some of the nerves.

I speak in front of groups daily, my mom always told me to think of the audience being nude, never worked, it used to be just before i go on, id tell anyone near me a joke, its always the same one and usually gets someone to laugh, if you look at my questions i recited it there. anyway it always calmed my nerves and it sent me in front of the crowd a little more relaxed, be confident and well prepared and practice your speech.... good luck

I personally have problems with my nerves and take Bach Flower Rescue Remedy. Its totally natural and helps in situations like yours. Its not a drug but has a subtle calming effect. Good Luck!

OFTEN time a glass of wine helps me. And a Prayer and you have my prayer OK. TAKE deep breaths. Remember the people are human and are just as scared as you are. That always helped me.And i looked at them as my friends. In fact i often called them friends. and they would smile. That helped me. Cracking a small funny innocent joke helped me too. Nothing racial or sexual. Just a clean simple joke. Good luck. THINK POSITIVE HELPS TOO.

I use aromotherapy~ lavender, peppermint and clary sage [singly and cooperative].
Practice until the words flow out of your mouth.
If you're gonna be doing this on a regular basis, I suggest you join Toastmaster's International.
