All you can do is keep going to the agencies as they get jobs in all the time. Early bird catches the worm etc. Jobcentre is pretty crap. You could go into firms on industrial estates and ask if they need any work - brave thing to do but it shows desire on your part.
Good luck!!!

You really need to get yourself around the agencies and register with a few. It is actually very difficult to get temp work when your only available during a particular time frame as its just pot-luck as to what the agency gets in at that particular time. You just need to get your CV around a bit!
Don't be put off if agencies don't seem to have very much advertised on their web-sites. They generally dont put everything on (gives to much away to the sneaky competition)Web-sites like Fish4Jobs and Monster are good as they tend to do a lot of agency ads.
Your local paper should have an 'agencies directory' so check that out.
Also be flexible to as to what you'll do and the hours you'll work. If you are only looking for a months work you would really be looking for something unskilled, as you wont have a chance to learn in-house systems and the like.
Or if you don't have any luck here, why not try some voluntary work? Look up on the local fundraising offices in your area....charity workers are always looking for a little extra help around the office.

Fraid I have no job offer but maybe the below might help...
Dependent on your skills I would say that your agency isnt telling the truth - there are always jobs to cover hols and sickness! I would look on totaljobs.com, monsterjob.co.uk (employers also use this search engine to post themselves as well as agencies), search on your thisiscoventry (type into google) and look at the local paper for casual jobs. There are always vacancies for holiday and sickness cover an odd day here or there. It will much depend on your skills i.e. if you have a trade etc, but if you are looking at admin or office based roles and have some experience I would try Office Angels, Reed or Hays or one of the highstreet temping agencies with high volume jobs like Brookstreet. Some of the agencies may not look at you as they will have to go through the pain of registering you, but I would tell them that you are super duper flexible, available at a moments notice, tell them the areas you can work in Coventry (i.e. if you have a car etc) and say that you are very enthusiastic and flexible on money and try not to be too picky!! This might help as when a company calls in with a role they will need their candidates to be all ready to go to make a good impression!
You could also try calling your local pubs/restuarants for casual waiting staff, particularly if you have experience or try calling some of the big employers in the area (you're probably looking at low paid envelope stuffing, photocopying, filing etc though as no one will want to train you up!). Oh and if you've ever worked as a receptionist I know that roles always come up....just depends if you have as they usually need experience!!). Also I would start very early tomorrow morning i.e. 8:30ish when the temp consultants get in and start hitting the phones (rather than e-mail) starting with the agencies. Tell the recruitment consultants you'd look at anything i.e. filing etc and are available whenever they need someone - they may get a call in that morning due to sickness and you will be in the right place at the right time!! You could also ping off a very short CV to these agencies tonight saying that you are available now with 1-2 hours notice, explain your situation etc.
Good luck!

If the temp agency tells you that they have NOTHING, then it is time to go back to school and make yourself more marketable. Employers today are being more selective on which temps get the assignment. So, it would help if you have a background (majored in something). If you can't afford a Bachelor's, then get another associates degree from another school. That way employers can be impressed and maybe you can get some work. Good luck

Well I have my own online web-store and I could help you get your own as well! I never have to touch the products all I do is give my web site out to people and encourage them to shop! People pay Retail and you get everything at wholesale so the company sends you a check for the difference because you directed the people to buy there products. We have many partner stores such as Circuit City, Barnes and Noble, Dell, PacSun, and many many more! You work when you want and as much as you want! Hope this helps!

Is there a Temp agency, where you live? Not the unemployment office, but a Temp Worker company. One summer I did a lot of temp unskilled manual labor (cleaning railroad grain cars; smoothing the surface of sprinkler installations; and other manual labor).
