No, I've never tried it but they are probably just tired of the bar scene and don't have hobbies that they can get out and meet new people....Not desperate though just curious....

No. We all aren't. Some of us live in out of the way places, with few opportunities to meet people.
My town has pop. 6400.
The nearest big town is 45 minutes away, pop. 80,000.
How will I meet available men otherwise?

I wouldn't do it but that doesn't mean that those people are pathetic. Its just interesting how many new modes of communication that the internet has brought us.
