Be sweet and demure. Nothing too low or too short. A safe color combo would be pink and khaki or white. If you hate pink -- as some do -- try another pastel or sherbet tone that better suits you. You don't have to wear a skirt -- but it's probably a good idea -- and you can still wear fun accessories to make you feel a little less like Pollyanna.

At all of the bridal showers I have attended (quite a few, one coed), everyone dresses up. I would go with a simple, non-revealing spring/summer dress-since it's family-you don't want to show too much skin this first meeting. If it's sleaveless/strapless-wear a sweater or shrunken jacket over it-simple accessories, cute sandals or wedges. For family bridal showers, an overall simple girlie look would work great.

Coed bridal shower?
I first heard of this about a year ago from a co-worker.
My thought is, why would a man want to go to a bridal shower?

Sorry I can't answer your question, but maybe you can ask some of the guys who are going.
