It's hard for me to consider any player chosen in the first round as a "sleeper." To me, a "sleeper" is a player that goes under the radar but ends up making a team and being really productive. Last year, Marquis Colston (Saints) and Pat Watkins (Cowboys) turned out to be sleepers.

Here are a few of the Day Two picks this year that stand out to me as potential rookie-year contributors:

Rams - WR Derek Stanley (7th round)
Packers - RB Deshawn Wynn (7th round), LB Desmond Bishop (6th round)
Redskins - LB H.B. Blades (6th round)
Titans - CB Ryan Smith (6th Round)
Chiefs - RB Kolby Smith (5th round)
Jaguars - DT Derek Landri (5th round)
Chargers - WR Legedu Naanee (5th round)

I think the true sleeper in this year's draft was Oakland taking RB Michael Bush of Louisville who was a leading candidate for the Heisman last year but unfortunately broke his leg in the years 1st game against Kentucky and didn't play again. The guy is huge 6'2' and about 245 lbs, is tremendously strong and has explosive speed. He would of hands down been the number 1 rated running back if he had not broken his leg and would of been a top 5 pick. He is a lot like Willis McGhee who wasn't drafted until late after his injury in the Sugar Bowl but think he is a better runner than McGhee...I think Bush was the steal of the draft!!!

yeah Brady Quinn will do good but he is not so much a sleeper since he is rated so high

maybe Trent Edwards the QB from stanford. he went to Buffalo in the 3rd round

Micheal Bush RB from Louisville. he went to Oakland in the 4th round

Troy Smith QB from Ohio State. he went to Baltimore in the 5th round

or maybe Steve Breaston from Michigan. He went to Arizona

How does a first round draft pick be considered a sleeper? If a team uses its first pick on some one i think it means they know he has good potential and talent. With that said I think linebacker Prescott Burgess from michigan will be a good player. he was taken in the 6th round i believe. He was a starter on the great michigan defense this year with guys like harris and branch and woodly and hall who were all taken in the first two rounds.

I think the Ravens were wise to pick up Troy Smith. He may be small, but his greatness in college and ability to win definately makes him worth a try. You never know.

There's always a large handful of guys drafted in rounds 5, 6, and 7 who end up becoming big-time players.

I believe Dwayne Jarret going to Carolina. He can learn from Keshawn there and really develop into something amazing. Needs to drop the thuggish image but if he can do that and not get messed up with Bengals type actions he will be great and maybe even have an impact this year.

John Beck who was picked by Miami. If Green comes to the team, Beck will run the offence better and will take over, kind of like Chad Pennington did for the Jets.

brady is a good pick for how far he dropped, quinn will be really good or really bad. but the raiders picking up micheal bush rb for louisville. is going to be really good if he can get healthy. we will never know until the season starts though.

Hey SLY...Urlacher came from New Mexico not UNLV...same colors different schools....sorry buddy....the biggest sleeper is definately Troy Smith...he will take over the reigns here in 2 years in Baltimore when McNair retires and will be a dominate force....whether it be handing it off to mcgahee or throwing it to mason...it'll be the team to beat

Steve Smith from USC going to the NY Giants in the second round. A deceptively quick receiver and great 3rd down receiver. Lost in Dwayne Jarrett's shadow, he may flourish in NY.
