It has been scientifically proved that women have more white matter in the brain and men have more gray matter...the white matter is responsible for the connections between the two lobes of the brains and various interconnections within the brain as well...this is also responsible for the communication process such as speech and writing as a whole....hence women have better verbal skills..whereas the gray matter is responsible for logical reasoning and mathematical abilities and as a result men perform better at maths and logic....However these differences are not always the same...there are some men with excellent verbal skills and women with good math skills!!

Contrarily, I believe that men have the edge over women with regard to both mathematical and special skills.
I do not for one moment believe that one should be discouraged from taking certain interests and from pursuing certain occupations because of their gender. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to perform in areas where they excel. Yet somewhere a line must be drawn. Men and women are not identical.
It's conceivable that each gender is slightly superior to the other with regard to various cognitive tasks. Those differences may be such that they still add up to equality.

Science has proven that women have a SLIGHT bit more potential than men to become eloquent speakers. Some has also proven that men have a SLIGHT bit more potential to become egineers. But we are all indivisuals, not every man is smarter than a woman in math. And not every women has a better vocabulary than a man.

Although, the best writers will probably be female (but also of males, too), and the best mathaticians will probably be male (and alot of women, too).

Because they cannot shut up. Waaa waaa waaa, that's all they do all day. Talk about mindless BS. Who was wearing what, who is Brat Pitt seeing, etc..... More verbal abilities or just verbal running at the mouth? Why do you think men have evolved the ability to completely shut off when a women is yapping along about more mindless crap? If they did have good verbal abilities then we as men would listen to them when/if they actually had something to say.

IF (and it's a big if) women do when all things are considered then my guess is that it is because women, whether we like it or not, are, generally, less physically strong than men. We learn to fight with words rather than fists, so to speak.

I even suggest this to account for why women tend to be more right-brained then men who are more left-brained.

I will always maintain (well, ok, until there is sufficient evidence to prove otherwise) that women do think more logically and men more emotionally (think fighting with words vs. fighting with fists. Which is more logical?).

Still, I do believe we are, actually, both equally capable in intellectual terms. When we don't have to fight to show who is better, when we can actually learn to better ourselves for ourselves, it'll all balance out in the end.

Besides, no matter how good any of us are there is always someone else, male or female, better. Who cares who's strongest or who knows more words. Are these really important in anything other than a wrestling match or a spelling bee?

You should be more specific in your question. In relationships, women are more verbal. Ask them, they'll tell you how to run your life. Anything else, guys are more verbal.

They dont, but in American culture at least, they are expected and taught to use them more than men are. Men are taught to be stoic ("Boys dont cry.") and women are taught to share their feelings. Not everyone does this and not everyone fits into these categories.

Actually women base everything upon communication, therefore they use more words than what men do. For instance, a man says five words for a sentence; a woman will come along and use 10 words for that same sentence.
