It sounds very much like wet tail - this is the name for any cause of diarrhoea in hamsters. Diarrhoea can be fatal very quickly in hamsters, as they dehyrdate so quickly.
You need to get the hamster to a vet. Wet tail is treatable with antibiotics and oral rehydration, but it needs to be caught early so you have no time to lose.
Do NOT rely on the pet shop treatment 'dry tail'. This is a rehydration treatment, and since wet tail is caused by bacteria, it requires antibiotics which are not available in pet shops.
Please do not delay any further or you could well have a dead hamster by tomorrow.

It sounds like wet tail. Your hamster is dehydrated too. It doesn't have to be fatal but your hamster sounds like it is pretty far along. It doesn't take long for little critters to dehydrate to the point of dying.
Wet tail is a Syrian hamster ailment only. It's primary symptom is diarrhea. All animals can get diarrhea but only Syrian hamsters can get wet tail since it's caused by a species specific bacteria. Here is an article by a med student and Syrian owner on wet tail: http://purplekatkritters.tripod.com/all/mites.html

Please do not ever attempt to mate a hamster. There are literally tens of millions of undesirable ones available contained in the international and merely because someone thinks that is cool to computer screen it would not warrant you the right to make a set of animals struggle through. If it really is the only reason your questioning about getting them then do not. Your for sure not to blame adequate to address them. As i have suggested beforehand; hamsters are not toys. they don't seem to be play issues on your amusement. they are animals and deserve the same understand as your cat or dogs and in case your keen to reproduce a hamster bypass ahead and breed your cat or dogs. Oh wait; it develop into probable neutered so as that it may not to dodge a flood of undesirable animals into the international. do not ever ever ever ever ever attempt to reproduce an animal. you ought to leave that to the approved professionals. it really is why they are approved and considering that of this they are professionals. because thay comprehend the thanks to address them and they are able to looking houses for them beforehand they have even been born. in case you've not even owned a hamster yet then you fairly shouldn't. And if the first element your going to ask is about no matter if or not they're going to kill one yet another when they breed then you fairly might want to under no circumstances get one.

like the majority of ppl have said, yes it is very fatal and yes it is wet tail. wet tail is caused by stress. do u have a lot of little children around the house or other animals? other animals can easily scare hamster (dogs, cats, etc.) and also little children often squeeze them too tightly when holding hamsters. so just take him to the vet and it will get treated. my hamster got wet tail and i got the cure called dry tail. although some ppl say it doesnt work, it worked for my hamster (it might have just been not a severe case of wet tail for my hamster, though, so i would take it to the vet before relying on dry tail)
