Amen. I learned long ago that if people don't like you for you, they will just end up screwing you in the end. I always act like myself, at 48 it's too late to learn to be someone else. LOL

There are 10 major defense mechanisms people use that make up their personalities. They did not choose them all. Some were necessary to deal with their childhood or teenage years. College adds to that defense system too and so do our career associates. It is natural to keep some things private and personal so someone cannot hit your big red button, and you have one too. Saying *screw* them is a major defense mechanism. Respect it. It's one of the best ones!! I only wish I had adopted it for myself but it's too late.

People are fake because people are also mean, and people are so afraid that other people are going to be mean to them that they become fake. What we need is less judgment. But that's not going to happen, because people are, by nature, judgmental. Maybe we can all teach our kids not to be bullying little pricks, and the next generation will celebrate individuality rather than shun it.
