I sort of like those grades. I loved learning. But I hated the teasing and bullying for being a "nerd" up until about 10th grade. Then somehow I was a little popular and got to have fun. But I still had my nose in a book waiting for the magical day of walking across the stage and knowing it was all over.
And most of my classmates can bite my butt now!

I'm in my 50's so was raised in a very different generation, but my gifts and personality were made for public school, so I was very "popular", got along well with everyone and got good grades. But I have also taught elem school and people are not all suited for the 3 basic R's neither are they all suited to sit still etc. Public schools, I think need some radical change. Also, our family lives are so so different with 50% of people getting divorced, things are up in the air. It might be interesting for you to do a statistical research and find out how many teachers have been thru a divorce. I think you will find the percentage to be way less than the public average which means they are still teaching and giving out homework as if there was still the 2 parent 1950's household.

I enjoyed the school part of school because I was good at it and made good grades. I'm not going to say I was jumping for joy every morning, but I didn't mind going to school either. I pretty much hated the drama that went with high school though, and the popularity contests.

I loved school, as far as k-12. Now I am in college, and I am not as happy about it. Guess it becomes more of a hassle as an adult, but K-12 were great, loved it!

I liked school, it gave me something to do and gave me access to all sorts of learning opportunities. I was never big on the sports or social lives but I even got into that stuff in college. I guess it was something to look forward to.
