Is it still possible to lift around it, as I just had hand surgery for a broken medacarpul in February and just started working out again. Please let me know. Thank you.

That's NOT real smart. You could do lots of further damage. Lay off until the doctor says you have healed and gives you clearance to lift weights again.

If the your hand is completly healed and it does not cause you pain to lift the weights then I would say go for it. Take it easy at first and slowly build up the muscles. I have broken my wrist before and I know how frustrating it is. Best of luck.

The person to connect with would be the physical therapist, as they deal specifically with rehabilitation. However, if you really want to start working out again in the mean time while you're wrist hurts, lift legs, abs, and do cardio.

It is called DUMB if you don't either ask the surgeon, doctor or physical therapist when, if, you can return to using weights again. You could end up permanently damaging the wrist.

Think!! Make the call!
