No, for one they have invested too much money into Kobe. And on the open market, if you really know how it works and don't listen to everything you hear on TV, Kobe's stock is falling. It's been 2 yrs since Shaq left, and still not a single playoff series victory. And in 3 yrs time the best that he has seeded has been a 7 seed in the west. That makes them about the 10-12th best team in the NBA, over the last 2 seasons. If they lose to Phoenix which seems likely at this point, it'll be 3 yrs without a playoff series victory. He is 112-111 as a starter since Shaq left. If you count the playoffs he's 116-118 (losing record).
I will say this. They will keep Kobe but don't be suprised if this yr is his last scoring title. Yeah he's great in one-on-one play, but if you study the history of the NBA only 3 players have won a scoring title and an NBA title in the same yr (Abdul-Jabbar '71, Shaq - '00, Jordan - 6 times). All 3 of these players shot for a much higher FG% than Kobe, and all 3 including Jordan, attacked the basket. Since Shaq left, Kobe has become a jump shooter. He's a great scorer but his stats don't even compare to Jordan's. Again, don't believe everything that you hear on a broadcast.
At the end of the day it is essential that you make the players around you better. If you can't do that, you will have limited success - especially at the NBA level. Players have to thrive around a player that puts up the points of a Kobe. There's a reason why there are no one-on-one tournaments aired on TV. This is b/c there's no money in it.
He won't be traded but if he doesn't win a playoff series next season, be prepared for Kobe to become a #2 option again like in his days with Shaq. Ppl will argue what I'm saying but teams want to win, especially the Lakers. And nowadays it's even more competitive. Most organizations aren't going to sit around and wait 4 yrs to see if you can make the players around you better. Kobe will be 29 yrs old this yr, and the Lakers won't even wait 4 yrs for a player in his early 20's, much less for a player that's soon to be 30. If he doesn't win a playoff series next yr, look for the Lakers to keep him, but also look for them to lessen his role as well.

No Phil will not get rid of Kobe. Anyway, who would Kobe pass the ball to. Have you forgotten that the Suns were down 3-1 to a team that did not make the playoffs the year before? Did you notice that when Kobe got some help in game 3 they kicked the Suns behind. Did you notice Kobe had 45 points that game? Watch game 5 and see what happens if someone besides Kobe steps up the Lakers will win. You get credit for assists when someone scores, not because you threw a great pass. Kobe could pass the ball a million times if the person on the other end can't convert, It doesn't count. John Stockton had so many assists because he was passing to Karl Malone. Assists don't mean you are a great player, it means you have good team mates who score when you pass them the ball. In his wildest dreams Steve Nash could never score 50 points. He just doesn't have those type skills!

You're out of your mind. Why trade Kobe now, after they passed on trading him when they traded Shaq? They've obviously made a long-term commitment to Kobe. Love him or hate him, he's the face of the Lakers now. He's the captain and leader of that team, a multiple year NBA scoring champ, is consistantly in the running for MVP, countless-time All-Star, sells tickets and jerseys and wins games.
Kobe isn't going to learn much of anything new from any new coach - he's been a leader, a performer, and an all-star too long to start admitting some coach has more game than him - much less D'antoni (who he snubbed by changing his number). D'antoni didn't make Nash great by teaching him new tricks, he just tailored an offense around the way Steve likes to play and surrounded him with a ton of great finishers.
Phil Jackson doesn't make the personell decisions at that club, and Jerry isn't going to get rid of Kobe while he's still breathing. And he shouldn't - Kobe is the only bright light on that squad right now. What Kupchak could learn from the Suns is how to surround all-stars with talented young players.

First of all there is a better chance of Steve Nash turning black then the Lakers getting rid of Kobe. They mainly kept him over Shaq because he sells merchandise and helps buildd the Lakers brand. The Lakers would get rid of Phil Jackson way before they would get rid of Kobe. And besides, Phil wouldn't get rid of Kobe even if he could because throughout his career he's always had one great player to fall back on. (Michael Jordan and now Kobe Bryant.)

Lakers trading Kobe is not gonna happen.
they made Kobe the franchise player when they traded shaq.
in solving Kobe to pass the ball he needs better players to pass it to, that will make the shot.so he'll feel more confidant about passing instead of him having to face 3 defenders while trying to make a layup

I'm not a kobe fan but the lakers wouldn't let him go. They would much sooner replace each and every guy around him then let kobe go to another team.
