We have lived in our house 2 years. There is a small weeping willow out back. I don't know if it's a youth or a miniature. Very skinny tree, about 6-8 ft. tall. It's always the first to bloom. However, this year, nothing. Not one bit of green. The only difference I can see between this year and last is the bark at the base of the tree is peeling off. I have tried to search Google for help, but to no avail. Is anyone out there familiar with the Weeping Willow? I've wanted one since I was a little girl, and I'd hate to lose it.

Thanks in advance!

Julie

Well, they need a ton of water, prefer lots of light, and get tons of diseases. But the good news is that you can get them for about $10-$15 at Walmart. I would find a good location (for water and light) as far from you house as possible, since they destroy underground pipes, and plant a new one. In good light and water locations they will grow 1-3 feet per year.
