Yes, it makes you a miserable and small minded little cretin. You should never be jealous of others. Go out and make your life extraordinary instead of being pissed at and about other people for succeeding and doing well.

It makes you human, not bad. It's normal to feel torn, resentful yet happy, for someone who has had a windfall. It's that brief moment when you think "If only it could have been me." If you dwell on it, and act on it in a destructive manner, it would be bad. But if you deal with the resentment and get past it so you can be happy for the person, then it's all good.

I can't say I feel jealous or resentful about other people's good news. Even though I'm happy for them I sometimes wish it was me. Perhaps you feel the same.

Yes these are normal feelings if their fleeting and you don't act on them. And No it doesn't make yo a bad person. Now if you struggle to feel happy for others on a constant basis this makes me think you are depressed- and should maybe seek someone to speak to. And depression is very common most people suffer with it at one point or another in their lives. Depression doesn't mean crazy like some people used to think.

No. The only way you would be a bad person is if you allowed those feelings to affect you and those around you negatively. Humans are jealous and envious creatures by nature and its what we do with those feelings that defines us as good or bad.

I do feel that way when its the same old lazy people who get everything on a plate, while the rest of us take the knocks and keep getting back up

I'm sure its normal....I hope it is!! And no, your not a bad person :-)

No, not a bad person. Just a jealous person. I have always thought of jealousy compatable with cancer. It will eat and eat at you and make you a very unhappy person. This is not criticism, just a statement.

There's often an element of "I wish that could have been me" running through people's minds when they hear of somebody else's good fortune. As long as you recognise it for what it is and don't scream "you jammy b@stard" follwed by a swift punch to the nose, then it doesn't make you a bad person.

Polly it makes you human
Jealousy is bassed on self esteem issues

You feel undervalued in some way and this brings out the jealousy

therapy will work out what triggers this and can lead to making you feel better about your life and your circumstances
