My folowers will be at the other end of Princes street with our bagpipes!

Bagpipes carry on in New Zealand, Australia and Canada, and if the younger Scottish want to forsake them for those noisy electrical band instruments, Bagpipes will survive. No need to worry.

I am not Scottish but I wouldnt say I hate Bagpipes. Hearing them at new year is quite good. Beats some drunk singing out of tune ..........

LOL! Thanks for the laugh. Though I don't mind them in short intervals, but if I had to listen for hours, then I'd probably want to toss them into the drink.

I remember a Bugs Bunny cartoon where he'd gotten lost and ended up in Scotland. He saw a guy in a kilt playing bagpipes and exclaimed; "That poor lady is being attacked my that monster!" and then proceded to accost the guy and destroy his bagpipes!

If you're talking about some of the punters standing on the corners playing, then I suggest you take them for what they are...punters. Soloist like Willie MacCallum and pipe bands like Schotts and Dykehead are in a whole different league. I can, do , and have listened to them for hours.
