That never happens in my house. My wife does absolutely nothing to discipline our children. If my kids ask their mom a question (and the answer is NO) instead of saying NO to the kids...she'll say "go ask your Dad", making me out to be the bad guy. Believe me this is even worse!

Yes, and I undermine them right back. My kids now know that when I speak, I'm the ONLY voice to listen to.

That is a huge NO-NO! If you have family members doing that you seriously need to have a sit-down talk with them. That's just unacceptable!

Yes, it is not fun at all, My mother in law used to do it with me and my ex husband. That was the only time he defended me, and the last time she ever did it.

I'm not a mother, but I do often see that with my grandmother telling my aunts what to do. I know she means well but I immediately try to switch the conversation. Because it's obvious that is not what they want her to do.

Oh yes. Like when I tell my kids that they can't have ice cream before dinner and my dad goes "I already told them they could and this is Grandpa's house."

I'm like "Oh ok is Grandpa gonna come to MY house and deal with their tummies hurting or the sugar rush?"

Crikey!! Ya!! My stupe hubby did that to me jus last night, my 9 year old stormed off to his room while we eating dinner cos I told him to get his face out of the plate!! Know wot smarty pants hubby did??!! Told me off for picking on the kid and then took the plate of food into him in his bedroom!! Hmmmm, moms have no rights in this house .............. no worries, no favors of ANY description for him this month!! ha! ................... :0)
