What the hell is emo/screamo music?

Screamo is a musical genre which evolved from emo, hardcore punk in the early 1990s. Characteristic of the genre are screaming vocals, harmonized guitars, and fast-paced riffs. Breakdowns in screamo songs are often slower and more melodic than in other genres, less of a "beatdown" and more of an opportunity for introspection (and rest for the musicians). Other than that, it is fairly hard to classify (particularly since the rule about screaming vocals is bent fairly often). In addition to that, screamo has significant overlap with other genres like grindcore and even post rock.

Hey you! Did you ever want to entertain you friends or yourself by dancing like an emo!? Then this is for you! If you and your friends ever wanted to dance to songs by my chemical romance but didn't know how, this will show you how to dance like an emo!


First you will need a couple of friends.
Get a stereo or a iPod with emo songs on it.
Make sure every one is feeling very emo-ish you could probably put on some eyeliner or black make-up to be in the mood. Paint your face as pale as you can get it and be sure to overdo the eyeliner. You may want to go to the mall to get some of this ahead of time.
Put on a emo-ish song, like "Welcome to the Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance or "Helena".
Next, you should flip your hair down so it is in your face [like the girl from The Ring(Samora)and the girl from The Grudge's hair] and begin to sway and put your hands on your forehead and slowly bring it down your face.
Next begin to make a fist with your hands and begin to punch the air above your head and make rock star poses during the pausing moments of the song.
Repeat until the song is over!

Tips
Go to the mac counter in the mall near you and buy a lot of black make up
Gather your friends who are as silly as you to do this
Plan a night out of it. go to the mall in the day and create a whole emo party wear you dance and be emo.
Have fun, but remember be emo in the process.
