I feel bad when I go on interviews and hear that I did not get the job. I feel like something is wrong with me and I can not interview properly.

It may just be that my skill set is not a match for the job, etc.

What is the best way to deal with this feeling?

try to cultivate the attitude that it's not that you were wrong for the job, more that the job was actually wrong for you!

Have you asked for feedback from the interviewers? This can be hard to do but is ultimately worth it, if it means gaining an outside opinion on whatever it is that's not quite right for them. Once you know, you can work on this and have a better chance!

People who are interviewing tend to forget that the candidate is interviewing them just as much as the other way around... I mean, you get a feeling if you want to work in a place when you go for interview... if you're lucky enough to be offered 2 different jobs at the same time, you need to judge which is best on your own criteria!

Best of luck and remember, what's for you won't go by you!

It can be very frustrating - especially if you go through more than one round of interviews!

So, try and ask if they can tell you why they went with someone else (often, companies can't reveal this.) But, if someone WAS more qualified, , that can just be the case. If you have a friend in Mgmt or HR - someone who interviews - see if they will "mock" interview you and give you some feedback. It could be that you need to focus on some interview skills - or, if you are consistently overlooked for someone who has different skills, you may need to broaden your experience.

But, really, many times it has to do with someone else being a better fit / more qualified.

Best of luck.

Don't focus on the rejection - focus on learning from the rejection. I believe the best thing you can do for yourself is ask the interviewer to help you improve your interviewing skills. Instead of saying "why didn't I get the job?" , say "You know, I am trying to work on my interview skills, what could I have done better? I really appreciate the honest feedback". 9 times out of 10 you will get an answer that will help you. Everyone gets rejected in life. EVERYONE. The smart person is the one who learns from it. Good luck - criticism does not have to be bad - listen, learn, apply. That is success.

I finally found a great company that does not care what your prior experience is because they have full and ongoing training and support. I really love my career and the company I work with. They have great benefits and a 401k plan and even personal mentoring. It is mostly computer work so I set my own hours. If you are the sort of person who enjoys helping others, it may work well for you. I would be happy to share more details.

Go on another interview and forget them. You didn't really want that job anyway...
My husband is going through that now, but the problem is, he's way overqualified. He just doesn't want to be in higher management any more, so usually, no one even calls him! You're lucky!

Is this a job or a career..... look at it this way ...they missed out on you...start thinking about your next interview , if you continue to dwell on the past that's where you'll remain.
