Hi there, I am designing a website and have in my mind the "look" that I want it to have. Part of this look is backgrounds and sections that fade from one colour to another - not moving like Flash or anything, just a still background that goes from one colour to another.

Apart from sitting with Paint open all day I can't think of a way to do this as I cannot locate any such software - can anyone please help me achieve this?

you want a 'blend', 'gradient' or 'vignette'

In Paint-Shop Pro, 'Flood Fill', 'Options', select 'gradient' and then the start & end colours ... this gets you an Image that can then be sued as the background for your web page ...

To make backgrounds and sections that fade from one color to another, you will need Flash. That fading that you are taking about is a kind of moving, that will be obtained using Flash. Even subtle visual effects are done with Flash.

I have used a package called Fireworks in the past, made by Macromedia if I remember right.

I suggest also to make it in Macromedia Flash.. just use motion tween.. It will fade to another color slowly without moving it to another position..

Thanks...
