Batman Begins writer David S. Goyer is setting his sights on another superhero property - he is directing the spin-off movie to the X-Men trilogy, Magneto. The movie will focus on the young Magneto, the villain of the X-Men pictures played by Gods and Monsters star Ian McKellen, and how he became mortal enemies with character Professor X, played by Star Trek: The Next Generation actor Patrick Stewart in the trilogy. The main characters in the spin-off will be played by actors in their twenties instead of the original cast. Goyer has previously worked on superhero movies Batman Begins and the Blade trilogy. Set for release in 2009. Written by Sheldon Turner, who wrote 'Texas Chainsaw: Begining'. No cast has been chosen yet. So my question is this: WHO SHOULD BE CAST TO PLAY 'Magneto' and 'Xavier'? (The actors would be in their 20s). ???

I know there will be a Magneto spinoff. I already know that Ian Mckellen will be in it because he proved that he can deage himself with the technology used at the beggining of X3. There is also going to be a Wolverine spinoff and an X-Men 4 because at the end of X-Men the Last Stand Magneto moved the metal chess piece without touching it after being cured wich ment that his powers were coming back ina fourth movie wich is what Ian Mckellen said at his website mckellen.com on the e-posts . He's the guy who plays Magneto. Also after the credits Proffesor Xavier wasn't really dead he was in a new body plus on the X-Men the Last Stand dvd case it says ''GREAT ACTION... THE GREATEST 'X-MEN' MOVIE YET!'' But I heard that the spinoff movies are probably going to come out before X-Men 4. For more official info for X-Men 4 click on these websites below

I could see Tom Hardy as a younger Xavier. He did well as the younger Picard in Star Trek Nemesis.

As for Magneto, I'd go with Henry Rollins. He has the intensity that would be needed to play the part. It might be hard to get him to slim down for the concentration camp scenes as Rollins is well muscled.

If this is true, then I think Shia LaBeouf as a young Xavier and Milo Ventimiglia as a young Magneto.

This movie won't be a hit. Part of the appeal of the X-Men is the ensemble-aspect.
