They are indeed real conditions. I work for a doctor myself and every Wed we ask him if what we saw was real :)

I think they are. The producers are probably consulting with real doctors. Hugh Lorrie's is great as Dr. House. Great Show.

I haven't checked every single medical reference on the show, but yes, they do seem to generally all be real and not made up. Some I readily recognize when watching the show. And looking at their website, they have a list of research on the medical conditions used in each episode, here:

I love that show, it's the only thing on TV I bother to watch. Very entertaining.

I think they have to be real enough. They of course beef them up for drama. I agree that Hugh Laurie is fantastic and he is truly a fine actor.

oh, me to i love hugh laureie, and the show, i dont know if all is real but i really think some of it is, most shows like this do research before they actually film, but i dont care, ill watch it no matter if its real or not.

They definitely are real, they consult real doctors for accuracy. I love that show Hugh Laurie kills me..lol.

yeah the diseases are all real ane they try to make the show as accurate as possible to the real diseases and they do have real doctors and medical specialists on the set to make sure everything looks like the real deal
