Oil companies have made a mint, terrorism is spreading, Defense contractors are printing money, half the country is so scared they are willing to give up there rights and even people like Warren Buffet think it's insane how little the rich now pay in taxes...all missions accomplished...remember during his first campaign, Bush said two this best..."I am here with the country's elite, or as I call them, my base" and "I will not undertake nation building, no, I don't think America should be in the business of building nations"...Looks like he was true on the first, lied on the second.

And to Daniel, you're wrong, Wars are between sovereign nations, since we installed the Iraqi government(with elections), we are not at war but we're involved in the largest POLICE ACTION in history...big difference

because the first "mission" grow to be the elimination of Saddam's regime. That grow to be executed very right now. Then Al Qaeda is geared up in. (our leaders knew they could) that's called a conflict. The enemy will wrestle back. The resistance grow to be fueled through Al Qaeda, no longer Iraqi's. The Iraqi's have on condition that grew to grow to be on Al Qaeda and as of the day surpassed by, at the instantaneous are on excellent of problems with the total united states of america so some distance as protection. Didnt study that interior the paper huh? Al Qaeda can't tolerate nor exist in a democratic society. that is why they confirmed up, and that is who we've been combating because the end of the unique mission. Take out a dictator and kick some terrorist a$$ at the same time. feels like a damn sturdy strategic coverage to me.

The 'mission' was to support UN sanctions against Iraq, folks, not to topple Saddam. If you look at the 'authorization of the use of force' that was passed by Congress, it gave Bush the OK to use force IF NECESSARY to enforce UN sanctions against Iraq.

Thise sanctions were, primarily, economic sanctions that could not be lifted until Iraq had dismantled its WMD programs. So the primary goal of the Mission was to dismantle Saddam's WMD programs.

Given that Saddam didn't HAVE any WMDs or active programs to create any, the Mission was Accomplished before it ever began.

So it was all lies to justify an invasion that Bush wanted from the beginning.

The mission isn't going to be accomplished.

The Iraqis wanted Hussein gone and we did that. But they don't want us occupying their country and I can't say as I blame them.

The three factions have been fighting each other for 1000 years. They're not about to stop just because we want them to.

Each month another 100 soldiers will get killed, and apparently that's OK with Republicans.

Long as they don't die who cares? Right?

The mission you are referring to is the end of the Iraqi conflict?? No the mission was NEVER accomplished, and it won't be without additional troops - a LOT of them. America can't do it without a draft and nobody I know wants that to happen!

You are right, the mission wasnt accomplished. I mean, we got Saddam, but that hasnt ended our troubles, has it? We need to continue to focus on the Iraq war. However, Dems and Reps need to work together to come up with something intelligent. and the Dems ranting on about ending this war...is not intelligent. This is a war. And the Congresspeople who treat this merely as just another political issue disgust me. We are in a war and we need to fight it...until the mission is truly accomplished.

The mission was accomplished. We got rid of Saddam. That was the reason we went into Iraq. That was are mission there. We are still there because we are trying to stabilize the country so it does not become another haven for terrorists.
