Many reason but usually a Starter.
Many times you can Jump start your car and it will 'jump' the issue.
A weak or old battery will many times cause this as it needs FULL power to get that faulty starter moving.
Personally, without a rack I can't STAND replacing starters.
I would start by asking someone to try jumping your car.
If you can find the starter, usually hidden that looks like a cylinder or can of some sort, a gentle rap with a hammer will knock it lose. I would NOT suggest trying this while someone is trying to start the car as many people get their clothing or hands caught in fans, belts, or pulleys and get seriously injured. Rap it, then try it. It's going to be better to do it similtaniously but if that really is the problem then you need a new starter anyway and shouldn't risk life and limb doing this.
My suggestion again is to have someone help you by jumping it possibly arcing over the problem.
Be prepared to have it jumped again if you stop it, or it may never start again.
Another possibility is if you recently did anything to your car, you could have a short. For example if you did something with your stereo etc.

Lights and radio mean nothing. Those are powered on a completely different accessory circuit. Start with the battery, it may not have enough of a charge to turn the starter over. Then check the starter and starter solenoid and proceed from there. It sounds like you don't know much about vehicles, so I'd just get it to a mechanic. If you can find someone to remove them, the battery and starter can be checked free at most parts shops.

I would reccomend checking under the hood for any miscellaneous rodents, clear out the nest, and then try again. If that doesnt work, then get off the virtual reality ride, and go home.

You may need a new starter. Go to Advanced Auto Parts or Auto Zone and buy a new one

i have a similar problem with my car. the battery cable ends are not factory but aftermarket replacements so they corrode easily. i just wiggle them and the car starts. they could also be loose.

Are you in Park or Neutral?
If yes, it may be the neutral safety switch gone bad.
