I started to have a miscarriage on Wednesday and I was put on pain medication. How long before I should feel some relief?

when i had my m/c last year it was the afternoon and went to hospital at night and conform i had miscarriage I had lite bleeding during the day and a lot of bleeding at night the next day.. like about 24 hours to 2 days.. but you would be really tired and you wanted to sleep...because of losing so much blood and all... if doesn't stop you should call the doctor... and you should make appointment with your doctor to make sure everything came out..but remember you need someone to be there whiling you still bleeding.. because i almost past out.... thank god my husband was there with me...get back to bed.. So you should rest and drink a lot of water.. and i sorry for your lost... And if you are trying again you should wait few months... so your body get back to normal...i was about 12 weeks..The hospital send me home.. so i had whole thing past me at home
sorry for your lost..

As everyone else has said, every one is different. I have had more miscarriages than I care to admit. Most, there was little pain, however, the last one was very painful. I was hurting for over two weeks. Speak to your doctor. Have them do an ultrasound to make sure everything has evacuated your body. If not, that may be the source of the pain. Sorry for your loss. Keep your head up honey.

Its different for everyone. I didnt experience really bad pain with any of my miscarriages so i guess I was lucky in that sense. But the pain I did experience went away after 7-9 days... about the same as a period but that depends on how far gone you were.

Sorry for your loss

The physical pain shouldn't last longer than 10 days (Nurses told me you shouldn't bleed for longer than 10 days or you will be scheduled to have a D&C) But the physical pain can be gone in less time then that. When I miscarried... the pain was gone after my child left my body (trying not to go into detail on that)

The emotional pain, however, can take years to start to subside.

Aren't you going to have a D&C?

That ensures that there aren't any little pieces left after you miscarry. It also ensures that you don't bleed to death, which is what was happening to me when I got to the emergency room.

Ask your obgyn about a D&C.

I had no pain at all after that procedure...they gave me medication, and I was well cared for.

Sorry for your loss, and good luck.

I m/c at 21 weeks last may. I was in pain for 2 weeks or so. You should have a D&C done to ensure you don't get infections.
