With a paltry 28% still left actually supporting el chimpo and the chimpateers? That is nearly 70% disapproval! Obviously any republican touting the "success" of the Iraq war will be slaughtered in 2008.

somewhere between slim and none.

Regardless of all the fantasy on this site from the Right, the GOP is ringing it hands right now.

Even the Republican candidates dont look too good to the Republicans!

What is unfortunate is that those numbers reflect the short attention span of the American public. People seem to forget that under Bill Clinton we were attacked on 6 different occasions (remember the original attack on the twin towers from the parking garage, the Khobar towers, the USS Cole, our two embassies, etc?) and we did nothing.

By the time the terrorists realized how weak and pathetic we were and decided for another attack on 9/11, Clinton was gone and "el chimpo and the chimpateers" were in office and put an end to it. I say end because we haven't been attacked here since.

Why not use the energy from your hatred to do something useful as opposed to trying to badmouth the President of the United States.

It is obvious from your statements that you much prefer the life we had under Clinton, who was so busy trying to nail anything in a blue dress that he didn't have time for trivial BS like protecting his country (but then again, he never did have any practice at that, did he?). I would then take my guess a step further and say you never bothered to serve your country either, right? It's amazing how a simple little question reveals so much about a person!

The Democratic party has had some great candidates in the past but have selected a turkey to run (Dukakis for example) and have lost. The Republicans need only run a main streem, somewhat progressive candidate and the Democrats may have a tougher time winning. If the do and the Democratic candidate makes major mistakes or fails to fight back as Kerry failed to do when swiftboated than they deserve to lose. This election is the Democrats to win or lose.

I love liberals who cling to name calling.... it reminds me just how childish the liberal mindset is.

Seriously.... name calling, is that the best that the Democratic party has to offer.

A republican stands the same chance as any other candidate regardless of the incumbent's approval rating. If you knew anything about the history of the American Presidency you would know that.

Further, if Hillary or Obama are the Democratic nominee, then the Republican nominee is a shoe in. There is no way either Hillary or Obama get elected in 2008.

Remember, you heard it here first.

Will it? And do you think most Americans like the fact that Hillary and Obama are using the war for politics only? Take this war seriously. Dems and Reps need to get together and come up with something smart. Leaving is not smart. And if the winner of the Dem primaries is Hillary or Edwards, you guys definitely dont stand a chance. Although I dont like Obama other than he wants to fight poverty and hes against gay marriage, he is the least dumb of three dummies.

I hope we the Reps pick someone good like Hunter, Romney or to some extent McCain (although he isnt my favorite).

I've been wondering the same thing. Their savior seems to be Fred Thompson, though he hasn't declared yet they talk about him as though he has. We don't know much about him, in fact it seems THEY don't know much about him. His "Daddy" image seems to be enough for them to hang their hats on for now. He's been hanging back and measuring the field I think. I don't know what he has to measure, every candidate that's declared has BIG problems attached to them.

Anyway, the Republican debate on Thursday ought to be interesting. The Democrats stood in a bloc in their debate for the most part. They looked like the Republicans used to look - like they are standing side by side and working together, not fighting among themselves. I suspect that the Republican debate will have a lot more mudslinging and nastiness attached to it, but we'll see. I think they won't be able to help showing the divide in their party.

The Dem's will nominate another loser (like Kerry, Gore, Dukakis, Mondale, etc) - I'm predicting that Joe Biden gets the nod.

Mitt Romney & Condi Rice will crush Joe Biden & Barack Obama in the election.

well given the TRACK RECORD of ALL law makers in Washington DC.

They ALL need to be fired, every bloody one of them.

They all signed off on an act that destroyed our rights...WITHOUT EVEN READING IT...
I kinda call that gross negligence.

They refuse to impeach a president that we the people overwhelmingly WANT IMPEACHED.

The Senate and the House have become
toilet bowls that desperately need to be flushed, scrubbed and disinfected.

Time to vote for real people, and not some made for TV party reps.

With the media the way it is today, the only way is to let the dems fall all over the place making fools of themselves.

Unless the country educates itself quickly, and the older dems of yesteryear dems, and the rednecks die off quick - there is no hope.

We are doomed to a future of dems running the country doing nothing but talking and taking LONG vacations and HUGE pay increases while giving all of the middle classes money away to slackers who want to spend it on tattoos, booze and loud mufflers for their $500 cars.

Thats funny. Bush was easy pickings in 2004 and then the Democrats nominate John Kerry. If the Democrats don't field a decent candidate they could lose again, as unlikely as it seems.
